Victoria Pendleton secured the gold for Great Britain in the Womens sprint, beating chinas Shuang Guo in two finals. Pendleton won the first heat in style before crashing shortly after the start in the second. After a restart the british world champion showed no mercy and sprinted home the gold
Lithuanian Simona Krupeckaite only needed two heats to win the bronze medal against australias Anna Meares.
